Brenda Zemba, Program Manager Brenda was born at Elmendorf AFB and moved around the country quite a bit while growing up in an Air Force family. Returning to Alaska in 1989, she met her husband and has been here since. Brenda joined our program in November 2006, and she says that she enjoys “being part of a process that truly helps our community by preparing physicians to practice in Alaska.” Freda Mucha, Residency Secretary Freda is originally from the Philippines, and has been in Alaska for 19 years. She will be one of the first faces you see upon visiting our program. She has been with the Residency for six years. Freda enjoys “meeting new individuals with differences in cultural background, ethnicity and religions from all over the world” through the residency. Paula Perkins, Staffing Coordinator Paula has the complex job of making all of our schedules run smoothly as we rotate through the various aspects of Family Medicine and within our own clinic. She originally comes to us from Michigan. Paula says that she enjoys”the people who work here.” They are “always willing to help, are friendly, and very understanding.” Gina Senko, Administrative Assistant to the Program Director Gina is the assistant to Dr. Johnston and coordinates many of the administrative tasks throughout the residency. She has been in Alaska since 1986 and with the program since 1998. She grew up milking cows on a farm in South Dakota. Gina says “I enjoy the sense of family in this organization. Each individual is important to the mission of the Residency.” |
